Welcome to CommsConnect-FlightWatch
CommsConnect-FlightWatch was developed to provide an added level of security and protection for DD12ers who are in transit on extended road trips, especially in remote areas, DD12ers traveling alone, or in areas of possible decreased or no cell phone coverage. CommsConnect-FlightWatch is a voluntary service, which “follows” or “shadows” a DD12er along his or her journey on the road. ALL CommsConnect-Travelers are code named for the PerSec of the “Traveler”, and EXACT locations are NOT tracked, unless specifically requested by the Traveler.
There are several different types of CommsConnect-FlightWatch “Following”.
Passive Flight Following – The DD12er submits a “Flight Plan” that includes: Main route of travel, planned departure/arrival dates/times, any intended overnight layovers, emergency contact, etc., and a Liability Release. However, there are no periodic check-ins, and the trip is NOT actively monitored by CommsConnect-Flight Ops. The Traveler only communicates with CommsConnect-Flight Ops to, 1) open the Flight Plan, 2) close the Flight Plan (upon arrival), and, 3) to issue an “Emergency Request” (if needed).
Active CommsConnect-Flight Following – The DD12er submits a travel plan (aka: CommsConnect-Flight Plan) that includes: Main route of travel, planned departure/arrival dates/times, any intended overnight layovers, emergency contact, etc. The Traveler checks-in with CommsConnect-Flight Ops periodically, and Flight Ops actively tracks the Traveler on each leg of the trip. When the Flight Plan is opened, CommsConnect-Flight Ops will notify the
Precision CommsConnect – Flight Following – The same as “Active-Flight Following,” but the Flight Ops monitors the trip in “real time,” via “Messenger Locations” moving map. The Traveler checks-in with CommsConnect-Flight Ops periodically, and Flight Ops tracks the Traveler throughout the trip.

By submitting a CommsConnect -“Flight Plan,” and the electronically signed Release/HOLD HARMLESS, the DD12-Traveler acknowledges and accepts the terms as included therein.
